INTRODUCTION TO FILMMAKING COURSE

Intro to Filmmaking is a detailed, hands-on introduction to the complete filmmaking process while producing a short digital film with High Definition (HD) cameras. Students will learn about the various aspects of pre-production, production, and post-production and will gain experience in different crew positions, all while making a quality 3-5 minute short film, with up to 4 characters, and up to 2 locations. This course will be open to ALL ages, but is ideal for those at least 16 years of age. The final film project will be premiered on a large screen at a local theater for friends and family, and students will receive a copy of the film for their portfolio.

Our beginner film class is held weekly for 8 weeks. Start dates for 2023 are January 10th, 6:15-8:45 pm, and May 2nd, 6:15-8:45 pm.  There will be a minimum of two shooting days, as well as 1-2 actor audition days (dates/times to be determined in class, dependent on actor, student, and location availability) that will be held outside of regular class. Students as a group will also be responsible for providing craft services for the actors on shooting days.

Cost for the course is $595 ($476 for Alumni) and includes all access to film cameras and equipment. A $50 non-refundable deposit will be needed to secure the registration.  Register and pay in advance with the form below.
