Brad Hoover is a dedicated narrative film maker and teacher. The lighting class was awesome because we got hands on experience and worked on lots of set ups with the camera and subject, so we could see how the theory played into the reality. Great class... thank you Brad!

I enjoyed Andrew’s class very much! He was very good at mixing encouragement with instructive and helpful critique. The building blocks he used to take us from the very beginning precepts of Screenwriting to actually writing our films empowered me. I knew that Screenwriting was a daunting process before I took the class – his instruction and encouragement helped me to see that it can be done. As he warned us in the beginning, I will never look at film the same!
I look forward to the next class!

I thought the location sound workshop was great. Sid and Bill are a lot of fun to work with and they really know their stuff! I learned a lot of neat tricks that will no doubt help out on future shoots. Great course!

I took a course at Asheville School of Film this past weekend and loved it! Brad is so knowledgeable about film-making and is a great teacher. I'll definitely attend another course in the future.

I was given a lot of advice about fleshing out the scene with realistic overlapping sound effects in video editing, as well as a guide through audio editing in audition. I was taught how to use multiple comprehensive effects and that presets are your best friend. A wonderful bonus was the instructor's willingness to accept future questions via email if we find ourselves confused in the future.

Wow, what an amazing resource for western NC. I took a screenwriting class from Andrew Shearer and he was outstanding. His engaging and down to earth approach was very effective. Brad the owner is also wonderful. You'll be very pleased if you decide to take any of their classes.

I am a previous students that plans to return soon. I enjoyed the teaching in which I received doing my time there , this is really a great School: five star rating

Thomas Cartier's Intro to Screenwriting class went way beyond my expectations. We studied various approaches to screenwriting and discussed what makes good writing in general. Tom was able to teach us how to analyze films for structure and rhythm and see beyond the image and emotion. He also encouraged us to dive in and write almost immediately and to try out different forms. He is so committed to his students that he even took the time to turn a few pages of my prose story into a screenplay! Overall, the class was engaging, fun, and inspiring. I'd recommend Tom's classes to anyone thinking of getting into film writing.
