sound capture weekend workshop - Dramatic narrative

This two day, intensive workshop will be held on Saturday & Sunday, April 28th-29th, 2018, from 10 am to 5 pm with instructor and professional sound mixer Sid Williams. 

Participating students should have a basic understanding of the following:
- Double system sound
- Methods of picture and sound synchronization
- Digital audio recorders and microphone techniques

This hands-on class will incorporate present day professional equipment, provided to you and included in tuition.  Using an actual script, students will get practical, inclusive experience on sound recording from beginning to end!  Equipment covered will include sound devices 6 Series and 7 Series Recorders, and other 
professional level gear and accessories.

Course Outline
A. Breakdown of the script for sound production
B. Have a tech scout
C. Meet with production heads from other departments
D. Review the shooting schedule
E. Address any concerns regarding audio
F. Prepare the gear for production
G. Watch rehearsals
H. Record audio for a few scenes from the script
